Installation Instructions:
- Start by removing the front number from the motorcycle.
- Carefully cut away any cable ties holding the start and stop switch cables on the handlebars. Unscrew the clamps and let them hang freely.
- Locate the switch connector on the bike. It is often located near the steering head on the chassis, but can sometimes be found under the tank.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the switch. Remember how the wires are routed for future installation.
- Clean the connector with a contact cleaner, such as Maxima Electrical Contact Cleaner.
- Loosely attach the new switch to the handlebars in the desired position.
- Route the wires in the same way as the old switch and connect the connector.
- Check that there is enough slack in the wires by turning the handlebars to full extension and adjust as necessary so that the wires are not too tight.
- Reattach the cable ties to properly hold the cables in place and prevent damage from roost.
- Reattach the license plate to the motorcycle.
